Report shows that it is increasingly expensive to keep museums open to public. Find the best way to fund museums among these funding possibilitiesgovernments, business, individuals. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

  2在网络时代下博物馆是否还有必要;

The finicial problems is a common problem fo rmany museums over the past few years of recession and lagging economic recovery. The expenditure to maintain museums is also increasingly increased. As a result, sufficient money must be raised from both government sourcces and privateeither business or individuals donations, in order to keep those museums open to public.

  2 Be faced with. 面临.

  3 Recession 倒退

  4 Lagging

  5 Maintain

Investment from the governments musf form a bigger proportion of the income of many museums at different levels. As a major way to fund museums, the public sector should always do more, and there may be no substitue for the government support for museums, especially in the longlasting financial crissi when that government support is more urgently needed. Although, in the face of such adversity, museums have shown great resilience and creativity in generating new sources of revenue, those troubled institutions can only be be sustained with stronger government backing. Considering that museums preserve a countrys collective memory for future generations, the importacne of public funding in museums could never be overestimated.

  2 Proportion 部分

  3 Substitute 替代品

  4 Urgently

  5 Adversity

  6 Resilience 弹性

  7 Generate 生

  8 Sustain

  9 Overestimate

Private donations also occuy an important part in keeping a museum, especially when government funding is limited. This way of funding can be done by providing money for new programs and spaces, as well as giving works of art as gifts to the museums collections. The museums may in turn tailor themselves to the needs of the donors by affording certain privileges to them, including the right to use the museums space to hold some spcial events such as promotion campaigns. This has given rise to complaints and worries in the general public that receving donations may leave the musums ruined.

  2 Occupy 占据

  3 In turn 反过

4 Tailor oneself to the needs of.

  5 Afford 给与

  6 Give rise to. 引起

In my view, among all the funding possibilities, government funding should always remain the best way of operating a museum, because it can ensure the maximum independence of the museum as an institution to educate the public. Donations from the private sector are necessary only when the museum cannot obtain sufficient support fro the government and are acceptable only on the condition that they do not interfere with the public roles of the museum.

  2 Operate

  3 Ensure 确保

  4 Maximum 最大的

  5 Sufficient 足够的

6 On the condition that.

Museum keeping cost is on uptrend nowadays. There are several ways that could be used to support museum to open to public, and in my opinion, governments are the best possibilities of all.

Governments, businesses and individuals should certainly be considered when keeping museums open to public. Good polices and enough investment from governments are vital for museums’ sustainable management. Companies are able to provide materials on business. Sponsorship from them always make museums or activities in museums surprising. Finally, individuals have the rights to spend their enthusiasm and money on museums. It is not only the economic supporting, but also give museums spiritual meaning.

In my view, governments’ supporting should be seen as the most important indicator of the management of museums. Governments should bear their own obligation that setting up public facilities like museums. Companies and individuals can support governments through pay taxes or private placement if they would like. After all, they are relevant to different groups in society. Companies always have a purpose to get profit, so that if they invest in a museum, there will be someone visiting who is satisfied in finance. Accepting an individual’s investment is easily add personal feature to a museum, and it will attract someone who has same personalities. But governments’ investment means that museums have their own authority, they have not to do some profitability usages. They are open to actual public involved people from every field and level.

In conclusion, businesses and individuals are useful funding possibilities, however, governments should bear the main responsibility to keep museums’ operation.

企业可以在博物馆organize their eventsexhibition and promotion related events, 提升他们的brand name从而有钱为博物馆赞助。

Funding museums is becoming increasingly expensive to open for the public. In my opinion, government and corporates have responsibility to give assitance for museums.

To begin with, government have become responsibility to fund museums, because individuals pay taxes and they have to afford expenses of their families. Therefore, individuals are not able to provide sufficient assitance for museum preservation. Secondly, museum represents national culture and preserve the heritage, which are vital for next generation. The youth acquire the knowledge of the history of their country, the form their national identity. If govenment do not fund for museusms, there is drastic impact on heritage preservation. Without the financial assistance from government, tickets will be more expensive and unaffordable for people. Consequently, they cannot take interest to visit these galleries and museum cannot sustain the enormous cost to maintain those heritages.

Furthermore, corporates are also supposed to donate their money to museums. These types of building are normally the landmark of city which represent status. Companies can organize their events such as exhibition and promotion related activities. In this way they can promote their brand name and also afford to fund museum. For instance, corporates in USA gain profit from hosting art galleries in the museum where attract plenty of foreign tourists. In return, museums and tourists industry also get revenues from those visitors, promoting economic growth and employment creation.

In conclusion, museums are very essential for employment, economy and culture. Thus, government and companies are able to fund museum because they have sufficient to preserve them.

With the devlopment of society, as a entertainment and education activity, visiting museum is more and more popular in public, which leads to more fund produced. I think government is the best way to solve this problems, at the same time, some businesses and individuals also can help.

The best function for museum is spreading native culture and education the public. Thus, museums belong to the educational and cultural scope of the governments livelihood projects. The government have responsibility to ensure the daily operation of the museum, more public can cultivate their interests in culture or technology, more historian and technician will be cultivated, society can develop faster.

Besides, the high maintain fund can not come from the ticker form individuals. Because the high price of of admission will increase the burden of the public, they do not want to enter the museum, contrary to the original purpose of the museumto spread culture.

Certainly, I think some people have the hobby on collection or some businesses capable of contributing to the country can help the government with fund. For example, the data from the university of California shows 46.5 of the museums maintenance costs me come from donations.

In conclusion, governemnt funding should be the main source of museum operating costs, with businesses and individuals doing their best to help.
